Kylie's World Record Class Project

Here are some videos of Kylie doing a Class Project for breaking World Records. She ran two trials. She wanted to see how many rotations she could complete in one minute. The first trial she completed 110 in one minute and the second trial she completed 125 in one minute.

Not Me! Mondays!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

So, I did not, not put underwear on my child because I did not want to have to clean up another mess because she refuses to use the toilet to poop in. I did not ignore her because she said she wanted to go see her dad who was outside. So I did not see her go outside completely naked. I did not try to stop her.

I also did not allow my 3-year-old to come into my room and sleep in my bed last night because I was too tired to get up and take her back to her bed. I also did not hear my 6-year-old get up and say she was hungry. I did not ignore her so that her father would have to get up and get her something.

Safety Town

The first grade at Kylie's school went on a field trip to a place called Safety Town. It's a place in Huntsville where they teach all the children about safety. As you can see they have a small replica where they teach bicycle safety. They even brought out Smokey Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog. Most of the children knew McGruff, but they kept asking "Who is Smokey?" I was thinking he's an American Icon....what is the world coming to when our children don't know Smokey the Bear.

Neglected Blog

Okay, I know this thing has been completely neglected this past month and I really don't have any good excuses. It's not like I don't have anything going on, it's just that I think that I have gotten into the Facebook thing and this got neglected. Not a good excuse because I really don't put much on Facebook either.

We have lots of little things going on like repainting the house. We have little bits of pieces going on here and there. I feel that we should really focus on one project at a time, but there are some projects that take too much time and so while I get distracted by another one, then I will do one that I know I can finish faster.

Kylie's room is our ongoing project. We have painted the room and the furniture, but now Chris is working on the wall mural. He made the entire wall a jungle scene and now he has to painstakingly paint all the creatures and the leaves. Oh well, his project...not mine. I just have to be responsible for getting the furniture ordered. Not too difficult you think, but I don't have the time just to look. I am hoping to have everything completed by the end of the summer. We will see.

I finished painting our room over this last weekend. We just have the TV room and the main family room, once that is done, we will have to start the process of removing wallpaper...not just any wallpaper, but it's the wallpaper that has real glue and is sticking to the core of the house. We have had the suggestion made just to paint over it, but I don't know...what if the wallpaper actually falls down, then there goes the paint job. We will see how much work the wallpaper removing requires...I'm tired of blisters on my hands, so if it takes a lot of work, then I'm painting the wallpaper...

I will try to get pictures posted of the rooms as they are being completed and the final products...

A Kennedy Post

I have a few funny stories from Kennedy today. She got up extremely early this morning, 6:00 a.m. so I set up her breakfast, a cartoon and then went back to sleep. I got up a little while later and was sitting down to eat my breakfast. The first thing I hear is Kennedy yelling, momma look at me...she was trying to lock herself into a storage container. Then it got extremely quiet and I was wondering what was going on...I didn't find her in the storage container. So I went looking for her, I found her on top of the bathroom sink jumping to the floor. I asked her what she was doing and she said "I'm practicing jumping into the swimming pool." Great...

This afternoon I took the girls out shopping and we were walking up and down at one of the local outdoor shopping centers. Kennedy started yelling, "Old lady, Old lady." I said Kennedy, we don't need to yell that at people, it's not kind. She kept saying, "Old lady, Old lady." I kept looking around and could never figure out who she was talking about. We finally get to Old Navy and she just starts jumping around and yelling, "Yeah! Yeah! Old lady, Old Lady. Mommy, we going to Old lady." It finally dawned on me..."Old Lady" is Old Navy. I guess we go shopping there to much.

"Bad Mommy Award"

I may not have mentioned this, not that I want to, but I pulled my kid's elbow out of socket...not on purpose mind you, but I had to grab her arm to keep her from flying off the trapeze at Nana's house.

We had just arrived at Nana's for Easter on Friday and the girls went out to the swing set. Kennedy wanted to get on the trapeze and swing. So I put her up there and she started swinging. She was going pretty high and started to lose her grip. So I grabbed her hand as she was slipping off. I heard a loud pop and thought, wow, that was a loud finger pop...shortly after Kennedy was crying and saying she had a boo boo on her elbow. She wouldn't let anybody touch it and she didn't want to move it because it hurt her. She said she wanted to take a nap so we laid her down to take a nap. Of course she didn't go to sleep because her arm was hurting so much. By this time it was about an hour or so after this happened and I was beginning to think that I had broken her arm. Anyhow, I called an emergency clinic and they said that I should bring her in to get an x-ray.

So we get to the clinic and we are swooshed straight to the back. The nurse practitioner looked at the arm and said I believe that her elbow is dislocated. So she said she is going to cry, the next thing I know Kennedy screams and the nurse said, we are done. Within 5 minutes Kennedy was back to her old self, talking, laughing, and trying to climb the chair to get onto the counter at the office. Luckily this kind of injury is not uncommon. You would have never known that I hurt my child. I was afraid I was going to have to explain myself to CPS.....
